Our first visit was to the Museum of Modern Art. I am posing in front of Andy Warhol's famous Soup Cans. This is what the modern world calls "fine art." Warhol once said, "Art is what you can get away with." It seems he got away with quite a lot.
This is Van Gogh's The Starry Night. It is one of the most remarkable paintings I have ever seen. The best reproductions do not do it justice; it has to be seen in person.

My Mom grew up in Brooklyn. I took Katy to see where her grandmother was raised. This is the Brooklyn Museum. It is directly across from where my mom lived.

The Soldier's Memorial is down the street from the Brooklyn Museum.

No trip to Manhattan is complete without a visit to Central Park. This is the lake where King Kong ice skated in the recent Peter Jackson remake. We looked for Kong - but unfortunately we missed him.

Katy is a basketball fanatic. Going to Madison Square Garden was like a pilgrimage.

Our seats were in the last row. It didn't matter. We were watching the Knicks in Madison Square Garden.
